his article is devoted to studying the features of artificial intelligence programs in teaching a foreign language. The purpose of the work is to identify and describe the features of artificial intelligence programs in teaching a foreign language. The main method that was used in the
study is the descriptive method (analysis and description of the identified features). In addition, a survey method was used. We used quantitative method and methods of presenting material (development of diagrams, tables) to collect, process and present the obtained data. The algorithm of the study involved identifying and describing the requirements for programs based on artificial intelligence; conducting a
comparative analysis of the relevant programs (GigaChat, Replika, Mondly, Speechling); development of exercises using the program that is most appropriate to the identified requirements; conducting a survey of students to collect statistical data and summarize the results of the program testing. The main requirements that an artificial intelligence-based program must meet are: functionality, ease of use, op-
timal cost, security, release of updates and competent technical support. We described each of the selected programs in terms of compliance with their identified requirements and conducted a comparative analysis. As a result, Replika program was considered to be the most appropriate for testing. During the training the participants studied the topic “Tourism” with the introduction of a program based on arti-
ficial intelligence Replika (10 lessons, duration: 2 weeks). The students registered on the platforms, completed interactive tasks and worked with the program as a part of the lesson. The survey showed the overall students contentment with the use of this program. The integration of artificial intelligence programs into educational activities can help increase motivation to learn a foreign language in the future.
